Including the big remodel, so much has changed at Barlow since it was opened in September of 1968. We are currently led by Bruce Schmidt and there are currently over 1,500 people at Barlow, a number which grows every year. Here are two Barlow graduates who currently teach here reflecting on their time as a Bruin.

When you went to Barlow how well did you like your experience?

“I had the best experience.”

What is different from Barlow right now and when you went to Barlow? 

“The culture! 1200 students in the school, and also, no technology and cursive.”

Do you wish anything was like how it was when you went here?

“School spirit was greater then.”

Amber Schroeder 

When you went to Barlow how well did you like your experience?

“I loved it here and that is why I teach here.”

What is different from Barlow right now and when you went to Barlow? 

“The renovation, more rigorous and more classes.”

Do you wish anything was like how it was when you went here?

“I liked it better that there were fewer choices so that it wasn’t so overwhelming and high school was simpler.”
