Footy Headlines.

After 24 years in power, Syria’s 19th president, Bashar Al-Assad, was forced out of office. He sought out power and balance between the people in his country and was later forced to leave with his family by Syrian rebels.

On the 8th of December, 2024, the Assad regime was forced into collapse. The attack against the government was led by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, also supposedly supported by the Syrian national army. Supported by the CIA and Israel, they mysteriously obtained a large shipment of weapons, guns that they later used to attack. The destruction and displacement have created an unsafe space for the people. The people of Syria are no longer able to fly back to their country, in fear for their lives and belongings.

ISIS, the Islamic State, is currently in Al Qaeda organization, fighting the Syrian government. It is still unclear what exactly is going on, but it’s serious. The Syrian villages are slowly being taken over by Muslims. There has been a long fight between Muslims and Christians. They have begun to invade, even forcing the Christians to convert. Along with this invasion, the Syrian flag is being changed. It will maintain the same colors but in a different order.

If you’re interested in making a difference for young children and Syrian refugees, take a look at some of these resources. Multiple fundraisers like SavetheChildren.org, IslamicRelief.org, and more are easily accessible through many web browsers.
