For the 2024-2025 school year, Principal Bhear has decided to have a senior highlight. One student has caught Mr. Bhear’s attention for being an outstanding student and athlete. Addi Knight was nominated for this year’s Senior Highlight for her amazing character and exceptional sports performances. Knight has demonstrated hard work and dedication throughout the year in school, sports, and clubs.
This year, Knight has been highly involved in the Barlow school community. She played on both Varsity Volleyball and Varsity Basketball, she is vice president of the National Honors Society (NHS), she is on Student Council, and takes part in Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). In sports, she has won many impressive awards. For volleyball, she was awarded Mt. Hood Conference Player of the year, First team all-Conference, First team all-State, OSAA Player of the week, and Conference Honorable Mention for Basketball. From leading lessons in FCA to becoming Homecoming Queen, Knight has made many memories this year, ones she’ll never forget. Knight told us that one of her two most memorable moments this year was when she helped her team beat Central Catholic for the first time in 20 years, and her volleyball team won the Matt Hartener Tournament, a tough competition. When she was not at club meetings or sports practices, Knight enjoyed dressing up for football games. After she graduates from Sam Barlow High School, Knight plans on attending Cal Poly Pomona. There she will be playing D2 volleyball and studying plant science. It’s clear Knight has made a positive and long-lasting impression on Barlow; she worked very hard and truly deserves recognition.
