Another of Sam Barlow’s young and gifted young wrestlers is Layth Qouchbane. In his third year of wrestling, he is already a varsity wrestler who placed in every one of his tournaments this season, wrestling in the finals for most of his tournaments, with less than five losses throughout his first high school season.
Qouchbane thinks he wrestled to the best of his ability at nationals and has found himself with opportunities like wrestling and practice at the Olympic Training Center. Qouchbane also has high goals and standards for himself going forward; for instance, he would like to continue bringing attention to Barlow’s wrestling program.
Things to note about this wrestler are the technique he brings onto the mat and his confidence in his ability to know what he can and not stress the little things. In doing so, he has found himself in contact with different associations and companies that base themselves around wrestling and wrestling alone.
After high school, wrestling comes to an end. Qouchbane has set his goals and standards to go to a Division 1 college, and while he’s not quite sure where he will be going, he is sure that he will make the most of the opportunities he gets along the way.
