On August 20, 2025, Judge Frank Caprio passed away at the age of 88 due to pancreatic cancer. He is widely known as the “world’s nicest judge” because of his compassion towards others in court. He has been the chief judge of the Providence Municipal Court since 1985, until his retirement in 2023. Judge Caprio originally gained fame for his role in the TV show Caught in Providence.
