American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift and NFL Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce finally got engaged on August 16, 2025, after two years of dating. On August 26, 2025, the couple shared engagement photos on a joint Instagram post, captioned, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” shocking Swifties and the world. The engagement was shared just 16 days after the proposal happened in Travis Kelce’s Missouri home. According to E! News, comedian friend Andrew Santino mentioned Travis had been planning for months prior, then finally designed and proposed with an engagement ring from Kindred Lubeck and Artifecx Fine Jewelry, with an unknown number of carats.
In the summer of 2023, on the “New Heights” podcast, hosted by Jason and Travis Kelce, Travis mentioned attending Swift’s record-breaking tour. He told his brother he wanted to meet Swift and give her a friendship bracelet, a tradition that started on the tour, but with his own twist: “I received a bunch of them being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it,” says Travis. Months later, in September 2023, Swift is spotted attending Arrowhead Stadium to support her new love interest, Travis Kelce. Last year, when taking breaks from her tour, Swift attended many Chiefs games alongside Travis’s family, including the AFC Championship Game and the Super Bowl, both won by the Kansas City Chiefs. Since then, the couple has been pretty private about their relationship, but not secret. Every so often, selfies of the two have been shared on Instagram, Swift has mentioned Travis in songs, or even thanked him for his support after winning an award.
As of now, no wedding plans for the happy couple have been shared. On a recent “New Heights” episode with Jimmy Fallon, Travis was asked about the wedding. He quickly responded, “That’s the next step. That one’s gonna be easy, I just gotta figure out winning football games first,” cracking a joke about his team being 0-2 at the time. Travis also mentioned that they are both “live music kind of people” when talking about wedding planning, so we can expect a wonderful live show.
While Travis Kelce begins his 13th season in the NFL, each spent with the Kansas City Chiefs, Swift awaits the release of her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” which comes out on October 3, 2025, as she announced on the “New Heights” podcast on August 13th, 2025. With the success of her first 11 albums, “The Life of a Showgirl” quickly became Spotify’s most pre-saved album in Spotify history. On September 19, Swift also announced that a release party for the album will be held in theaters nationwide, from October 3-5. The success of the famous couple continues to grow, but the world is eager to know what their next big step will be.
