Sam Barlow’s College and Career Center has many opportunities and resources that will benefit you and your future. If you haven’t checked it out yet, now is the time to give either Mrs. Molony or Mrs. Collins a visit, and they can help guide you through the steps after high school.
One of these ways, which is more targeted toward seniors and upperclassmen, is the various scholarships students can earn. Mrs. Molony stated, “You can find these on our Barlow Web Page.” She had also pointed out that there are different categories that have different meanings. Under the local section, scholarships are only available to students in Oregon, and some are specifically for Barlow students. These scholarships can only be applied for if you plan to attend college in Oregon. Then there are national scholarships that can be earned if you are aspiring to go to school out of state.
Most of these scholarships are pointed toward seniors, but “There are scholarship opportunities for all grades, even some eighth graders could apply for,” Mrs. Molony said. Although you can accomplish much of this on your own, it may be more beneficial to consult with professionals and seek assistance, allowing you to feel more confident and prepared as you move forward to the next step in your life.
Don’t miss this opportunity and head to our College and Career Center located in the main commons. You can schedule appointments via email with either of the workers, and help yourself achieve your goals and get into the college of your dreams.
