For decades, Computer-Generated Imagery (CGI) has been used in movie productions across the world. One of the first uses of CGI was in a movie from 1953 called “Vertigo”. Over the years, CGI has significantly progressed and become more advanced, assisting film productions in rapidly modernizing. But this advancing technology was not enough for a company called Xicoia, which is a part of the production company Particle6 Group.
Particle6 Group is not a movie company; instead, it is an AI-driven digital content and broadcast production company, based in London. This company hasn’t even been around for a decade yet, but in recent months, it has gotten significant attention, both negative and positive. In September 2025, the company released an AI actor, a new addition to the world of acting. This “actor” was named Tilly Norwood, and she made her debut in a comedy sketch that was completely AI-generated. This video can be found on Particle6 TV’s YouTube channel. From this sketch, many speculate that talent agencies are attempting to sign this upcoming AI star. She has since been in two commercials and has already started to expand her experience as a “real actor”.
While some are not bothered or even excited about this new take on AI, many people are worried and frustrated about this latest development. Actors immediately responded with concerns about AI taking over jobs that people have devoted their lives to. One major actress who has spoken out about her concerns for this is Emily Blunt. She told Variety that “it is really, really scary”, and pleaded with Hollywood agencies not to make this a normal thing. Natasha Lyonne called the concept of signing an AI actor “deeply misguided and totally disturbing”, according to BBC News. Unfortunately, no changes have been made yet about this new AI development, and many actors are awaiting a shift in the industry.
