With winter break and holidays around the corner, here is a list of local holiday activities

that you could do with your family, friends or by yourself!

1. “Oregon Zoo Lights”

If you want to go to a place that will brighten up your night, the Oregon Zoo lights are a

perfect place for you! The event will be at the zoo from November 21st, 2022 through January 5th, 2023. The tickets range from $21 – $29.

 

2.  “The Nutcracker”

“The Nutcracker” is a popular holiday tradition that many people love. The Oregon Ballet

The Theatre presentation of “The Nutcracker” will be held at The Keller through December 10th – 24th. The cost for the tickets for the presentation varies.The cost for the tickets for the presentation varies.

 

3.  Portland Saturday Market

The market is open every Saturday from 10:00 AM till 5:00 PM from March to

December. The Portland Saturday Market is a popular Rose City tradition ever since 1974 and it is the largest arts and crafts fair in the U.S. The market is free unless you are buying something, of course.

 

4. New Year’s Eve Sobriety Powwow

The powwow will be held at the Oregon Convention Center on December 31st 2022 and

presented by the Native American Rehabilitation Association. The NARA’s New Years Eve Sobriety Powwow is the largest sobriety new year powwow and the largest sober New Year’s event in Portland. There is no fee to attend the powwow.

 

5. Menorah Lighting

The Menorah Lighting will happen at the Pioneer Courthouse square through December

15th – 26th 2022 at 5:30 PM. Chabad of Oregon will light Portland’s Public Hanukkah Menorah and on the first day (December 18th) there will be live music, Chanukah foods, and festivities for the eight nights of Chanukah.
