• Springfest

Springfest will happen on May 19th at Sam Barlow High School! There will be four tournaments you can sign up for by the College & Career Center. Those tournaments will include pickleball, basketball, a belly flop competition, and volleyball. For people who didn’t sign up for any tournaments, there will be rides, food (gyros, snow cones, etc.), henna, face painting, and so much more.

• Hiking

If you are someone who loves the outdoors and is active, then hiking is the best choice! You can get your workout in while also enjoying nature and the weather. There are many hiking trails in Oregon, the most popular one is Multnomah Falls. But with the weather getting warmer, make sure you are protected from the sun (sunscreen, sunglasses, etc.) and hydrated.

• Amusement Parks

Amusement parks are an amazing place to bring your friends to! You all can enjoy the rides and food. Oaks Park in Portland is a popular local amusement park. Oaks Park was first opened in 1905 and is the oldest operating amusement park in the country.

• The Beach

With the weather getting warmer, going to the beach would be perfect. There are many beaches along the coast of Oregon. The most popular beach is Cannon Beach where you can see Haystack rock. Haystack rock is a popular tourist attraction and is the third tallest intertidal structure in the world with a height of 235 feet.

• The Mall

The mall is a great place to hang out with friends, find some cute clothes for the summer and more! Clackamas Town Center is the most popular mall in the area with a wide variety of shops you can visit. Clackamas also has a wide variety of restaurants you can eat at too ranging from Mexican food to Thai or Italian and so much more.

• Food Carts

If you or someone you know is indecisive with what they want to eat then food carts are just the right place to go! There is a wide variety of food and you can even eat breakfast during lunch at some spots. The most popular spots nearby are in Happy Valley or Troutdale. Even though those areas are huge, there are some areas that are smaller but still have amazing food. For example, Sandy has a small food cart joint but there are still a bunch of places you can choose to eat.
