With the summer of 2026 around the corner, there are many things to look forward to. Various films, music, and books are to be released in the coming months. This summer is bound to be exciting and action-packed.
Multiple movies have been announced for release in the next few months, starting with Masters of the Universe. Based on the He-Man and Skeletor story on planet Eternia, it is getting a live-action film on June 5 after decades. The movie stars Nicholas Galitzine, Camila Mendes, Jared Leto, and many more. Another sequel, Toy Story 5, is coming out on June 19. With the iconic characters of Woody, Jessie, and Buzz Lightyear, played by Tom Hanks, Joan Cusack, and Tim Allen, they have to deal with technology, rather than other toys. Coming out on June 26 is Supergirl, starring Milly Alcock, Jason Momoa, and David Corenswet. It directly follows the 2025 Superman movie’s timeline.
More movies are coming out this summer, including the two sequels, the animated movie Minions & Monsters, and Enola Holmes 3. Both are coming out on July 1, with a lot of excitement for both movies. The cast of Enola Holmes includes Milly Bobby Brown, Louis Partridge, Henry Cavill, and Helena Bonham Carter. A live-action Moana movie is releasing on July 10, starring Catherine Laga’aia and Dwayne Johnson. It is going to be a musical with a relatively similar plot to the 2016 animated film. One more movie is releasing, Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Opening in theatres on July 31, the movie marks the fourth part of Spider-Man’s life, with him now in his early twenties, past high school.
Besides the long list of movies, multiple television shows are debuting or getting more seasons. Ted Lasso is getting its fourth season, releasing on August 5. Some of the show’s popular actors include Hannah Waddingham, Jason Sudeikis, Brett Goldstein, Juno Temple, and more. The comedy show’s prior seasons have won awards, including the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series. Silo, a show set in an apocalyptic future, returns for its third season on July 3. Their main characters feature Rebecca Ferguson, Steve Zahn, Rashida Jones, Tim Robbins, and more.
Brand new television shows are coming out, like The Lanterns. Releasing on August 16, the eight-episode show features Kyle Chandler and Arron Pierre as the iconic characters Hal Jordan and John Stewart. It is unclear whether or not it will have a second series, but that depends on how well it does this year. A brand new Little House on the Prairie rerun is premiering on July 9. Another eight-episode series based on Laura Ingalls Wilder’s books has already been approved for a second season, despite the first season not yet being released.
Aside from movies and television, the next few months bring multiple exciting albums. With music itching to be brought to our playlists, iconic singers are making their comeback. Madonna has a brand new album coming out after seven years, set to be released on July 3. Her 15th studio album is a sequel of sorts to her 2005 album, Confessions on a Dance Floor. Another album release is You seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, by Olivia Rodrigo. The release date is July 12. Petal, an album by Ariana Grande, is to be released on July 31, during her Eternal Sunshine tour. This will be her eighth studio album. Another album coming out is Tyla’s A*POP. Releasing on July 24, her sophomore album features a single and a collaboration with Zara Larsson.
