With the final episode of Percy Jackson: Season Two released, Season Three has been announced for December 2026. Based on Rick Riordan’s book, The Titan’s Curse, Percy Jackson goes on yet another quest.
The Titan’s Curse begins with our main characters, Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, Thalia Grace, and Grover Underwood, as they help Grover complete his rescue mission to find two young demigods at Westover Hall, a boarding school in Maine. Following this rescue, and the dangerous fights that entail, the demigods receive a quest to save Artemis. The quest is as follows:
“Five shall go west to the goddess in chains,
One shall be lost in the land without rain,
The bane of Olympus shows the trail,
Campers and Hunters combined prevail,
The Titan’s curse must one withstand,
And one shall perish by a parent’s hand.“
There are many new cast members this season, some of whom are major characters. The season will begin with Nico di Angelo and his older sister, Bianca di Angelo, played by Levi Chrisopulos and Olive Abercrombie. Their casting received a generally very excited reaction from Percy Jackson fans. They are set to play a crucial role in the coming seasons, as well as in this one. Likely to be introduced at Westover Hall along with them, David Costabile has been cast for Dr. Thorn, otherwise known as the Manticore. Jesse L. Martin will be playing Annabeth’s father, Frederick Chase, who originally had a more distant relationship with Annabeth in the books. The show may instead feature a more emotionally charged relationship between them.
Other gods and goddesses have either been revealed or have yet to be announced. Kate McKinnon is cast as Aphrodite, the goddess of love. The casting for Apollo has yet to be revealed, though he has been chosen. Rick Riordan, the author of the original books, stated, “The actor is super — and I’m saying this as a guy who wrote five books from Apollo’s POV!”
He praised the actor that they had chosen to play Apollo, leaving fans on the edge of their seats. Other gods and goddesses, such as Hera, Hestia, and Demeter, have not been cast.
We have finally started to delve into the Hunters of Artemis! The hunt is independent of Camp Half-Blood, and they travel around the country to conduct it. They are made up of demigods, mortals, and nymphs alike. The casting for multiple very exciting figures has been revealed. Dafne Keen will be playing Artemis, the goddess of the hunt. To join the hunters, you must follow Artemis’s wish and pledge an oath of eternal maidenhood and swear off romance, no longer having interest in men. In doing so, they gain immortality against illness and aging, though they may die in battle. Saara Chaudry plays Zoë Nightshade, a “dam” good lieutenant in Artemis’s hunt. Zoë and Artemis play a crucial role in this season, which you will have to wait to see. One of the main antagonists for this season is the Titan Atlas, played by Holt McCallany.
Unlike the first two seasons, this season will have a much greater and more devastating impact on Percy Jackson’s life. This third season will really dive into the realities of how dangerous the constant fights against Luke and Kronos’ army really are. The upcoming season will delve deeper into the strong attitude and emotions Percy showed in the last few episodes of season two. It also features the recurring themes of fatal flaws, one of which is Percy’s loyalty.
