The Iron Lung movie was made by Mark (Markiplier) Fischbach; the Iron Lung game was made by David Szymanski. Mark was the star actor, main director, and editor of this movie. On the SlasherRadio podcast, Bones, the caster states, “You turned down so much help.” Fischbach states that “content creators aren’t treated with the most respect,” which is true to its statement. Fischbach also says, “I don’t have to take a deal where it will give up control of this movie.” Fischbach would make a video on YouTube called “I didn’t think this was possible.” During that video, he shows a little bit of the behind-the-scenes, and talks about how many theaters would show this movie. He would start with around 60 theaters. During that video, it went up to 1578 theaters across America and some neighboring countries. There would also be a blood drive for this movie! Mark would also break the world record for most fake blood in a movie. For someone who had done it all for three years, doing all the main work for three years must be something impressive to everyone. Thus, he would also later have a call about international rights to the movie, and he would ask the game developer if he had international rights to show it everywhere.
Fischbach is the popular YouTuber star Markiplier, who was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on June 28, 1989. On May 26, 2012, Fischbach would start his YouTube channel, naming it Markiplier. He would start his channel by posting horror game playthroughs, his first being “Amnesia Reaction Compilation”. It would be a compilation of him playing the game Amnesia. All these years of making videos for YouTube would make his name and brand very recognizable. You see a man with a pink mustache and think Markiplier. Now Fischbach has shown that being a YouTuber isn’t just a job, but a creative mind field that mostly everything can be made on. But what Mark would also prove is that YouTubers can become movie star creators, actors, actresses, editors, and anything upon making a film.
During the creation of the movie, Mark would get actors for the voices for the intercom in the iron lung sub. Mark would play the main role of Simon, who is the main character. Seán Mcgloughlin, or well known youtuber Jacksepticeye, played as Jack, who is the mechanic. Troy Baker, who has played many major roles in the gaming community, such as Joel Miller from The Last of Us, Joker from Batman Arkham Origins, and ETC. But he would play as David. Caroline Kaplan, who plays Ava, is well known for The Plot Against America, and Divorce. Elle LaMont plays the whispers. Well-known movies she has played in are Flay, Mercy Black, Strings, ETC.
Finally, the movie was made by Markiplier and shown in theaters. Many people had their opinions on the game’s perspective, either disliking it because it was repetitive or loving it because of its lore. The movie showed its action and lore to its audience, who had mixed reactions. But in the end, Markiplier has shown that a YouTuber can direct, star, edit, and produce a movie that people can enjoy. That not just big-name producers can produce a movie, and they can have the power to do anything with the correct motivation.
