If you are looking for a binge-worthy TV show that you cannot take your eyes off of, Finding Her Edge should be next on your watchlist. Finding Her Edge was just released on Netflix on January 22, 2026, and it is based on the book Finding Her Edge written by Jennifer Lacopelli. Finding Her Edge is a young adult sports romance about ice dancing and skating. Trust me, if you love a good dramatic romance, this TV show is a must-watch.
The first season really shocked me with how genuinely entertaining it was. In Finding Her Edge, the show centers on the Russo family, one of the most famous and influential ice-skating families in the industry. The main character, Adriana Russo (played by Madelyn Keys), is the middle child of the family. After the tragic death of her mother, she had quit ice dancing to help her dad run the ice rink, but when her big sister got into an icy accident, she had to put the ice skates back on because Russo Rink really needed a star. Truly, this show kept me on the edge of my seat. I never wanted to stop watching it.
The number one reason why I was so invested in the show was the love triangle. Now, of course, I understand what you may be thinking: “Gosh, another love triangle?!” But I promise, this one is worth watching. Adriana Russo has two breathtaking issues, Brayden Elliot (played by Cale Ambrozic) and Freddie O’Connell (played by Olly Atkins). Brayden is charming, funny, and absolutely adorable, and Freddie is kind, fun, and her childhood crush. Whether you are team Brayden or team Freddie, the show has a way of making it really hard to choose between the two.
Finding Her Edge also did a great job in portraying character growth. Every single character in the show was going through their own life problems, and honestly, there were quite a few who I really wasn’t a fan of in the beginning, then by the end, I had learned to love them. The show was so good at making me feel what the characters were feeling, almost as if I was experiencing those emotions myself.
Some might say that Finding Her Edge is the winter version of The Summer I Turned Pretty, and honestly, I do not agree or disagree with that. The main love triangle did not make me as mad as Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah did, but at the same time, I did get very similar vibes. In both shows, the fandom was split into two teams (if not more), and there was a death in the family, which obviously led to a lot of problems, but I still think that both shows are so different from each other that comparing them almost feels wrong.
If you are looking for a show with crazy amounts of drama, angst, and intense romance, let me just say, Finding Her Edge is not for you. However, if you are looking for a show that has teenage drama, ice dancing, romance, and a good storyline, then yes, Finding Her Edge is for you. Just be prepared to feel a range of emotions from one episode to the next because this show will take you for a ride. So what do you say? Will you give Finding Her Edge a chance?
