While everyone, or nearly everyone, was waiting for Justin Bieber to perform at Coachella, I was waiting for Pinkpantheress to turn the stage up. PinkPantheress makes her Coachella debut and takes the stage as she performs. While she may be performing so well, it seems that this was just a short while after she got her wisdom tooth removed. Recovering from a wisdom tooth removal may be really hard due to the inflammation and tissue trauma from getting it removed. Which is really surprising, given how well she performed. She then went on to open her stage appearance with her song “Stateside, that went viral for the catchy vibe and lyric it has to it, which takes the listener under a spell to sing along.
She then performs her next song, “Romeo,” and then her album Heaven Knows. Then she played some of her songs on her albums “To Hell with It”, “Fancy that”, and other all-time favorites such as “Pain”, “Turn your phone off”, and “Boy’s a liar pt.2.” Pinkpantheress is known for her colorful palette of fashion and clothing style, which inspires most of her fans to dress similarly. The theme of her show was really eye candy due to how pink and Y2K she was aiming for. This made the fans really excited and hyped due to how she was just about to perform her opening performance, but they were already excited because of how pink and glowy the stage was looking, which led people’s imagination to think of how amazing her performance is gonna be. What really stood out to me was her outfits during her performance because of the theme she was going for, which was really a cinematic club style.
Bringing back the cinematic club style is what the fans are saying she’s doing, which seems to be working due to how big her influence on her fans is, which is what makes her really successful. Her outfits during her Coachella performance included a blazer with a plaid bikini-like halter top underneath. Her plaid look and pattern connect to her recently released album “Fancy That.” She then changed into her bow plaid top, which really complemented her figure and has to be my all-time favorite of her looks due to how nicely the pattern matches with the theme of her stage and Y2K style she goes for. Matching her outfit with capris was really the way to go, too, given how trendy capris are getting these days, how hot it’s been, and how easily they’re comfortable to wear.
All of that was really just an appetizer for what she really had in mind for her real surprise. While concluding her performance, she then invites an actor, Tyriq Withers, up on stage while performing “Romeo”. “Romeo” is really known for her singing about finding her Romeo, as she’s referring to the two lovers trope Romeo and Juliet. As she invites him on stage during “Romeo”, she ends up giving the guy a smooch as the song ends, leaving the fans in shock.
