In October 2023, the Oregon Schools Athletic Association (OSAA) voted to approve boy’s volleyball as an OSAA Sanctioned sport. In recent years, 30 schools have participated in the growing sport of boys’ volleyball. However, this year, 71 out of 76 schools opted to participate. Practices have officially started, and games are set to begin on April 10th. Barlow’s boy’s volleyball team is coached by Chris Holzbach and Steven Christiansen and is set to play their first game at Nelson at 6:15 on Wednesday, April 10th. To find the full Schedule for boys’ volleyball games, check out their Instagram @barlow_boysvolleyball. State tournaments for the top 12 ranked teams will be held May 31- June 1, 2024.

Girls’ flag football is another new emerging sport across Oregon. It has also started with games. Barlow girls’ flag football played its first game at home on April 11th against Reynolds at seven, which they won 14-6.
