For 20 years now, we have had our wonderful Erin Boelow working at Sam Barlow as a counselor who supports students whose last names start with Cp-Ha. After these past lovely years, Mrs. Boelow will be leaving Barlow as of February 20, 2026.
Knowing she’s leaving, she says, “I am taking a leave of absence to care for some of my family members who need my help at this time.” For more than two decades, she has been helping many students at Barlow, and now Mrs. Boelow is leaving to help others. All of Barlow’s students and staff will miss having Mrs. Boelow to go to for help, but we are glad she is able to help others.
Since Mrs. Boelow has worked here for so long, she stated, “There is truly something special about Sam Barlow High School. I have enjoyed my work and the team of people that I have had the privilege of laughing and working with.” This enjoyment is why she has stayed at Barlow for so long. Many of her students and colleagues will truly miss her, and she says that, “The relationships with my colleagues and watching students master their high school experience are what I will miss most.”
February 20 has come quickly, and there are Bruins who have great things to say about Mrs. Boelow. One student has expressed that, “Mrs. Boelow was always so kind and helpful, and I loved having her as my counselor.”
One of her colleagues, Shae Morris, expressed, “She is funny and keeps me laughing, even when times are hard. She is supportive and always willing to lend an ear when others are in need.”
Student, Kayla Goodin says, “She makes me happy, and makes me feel understood. Also, she is always there for me, and I’m very thankful that I had her as my counselor.”
Another thing that Mrs. Morris would like to say is that, “I would like to send out a big thank you to her for all of the care she has provided to the Barlow community. She has been here a long time and has put students first time and time again. She will be missed in our department and within the school community as a whole.” Many in the Barlow community agree with this statement because of Mrs. Boelow’s deep impact.
If Mrs. Boelow has impacted you positively, you can reach out and express your gratitude. Mrs. Boelow has done so much for Barlow, and her work and care will not be forgotten. Barlow wishes Mrs. Boelow well and is happy to say that she was an amazing counselor, friend, and member of theBarlow community.
