The 2026 OSAA Oregon State Wrestling tournament was held on February 26 through the 28, at Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Portland, Oregon. This event featured wrestlers from many different schools, with intense competition across 6A/5A girls and various boys classifications, as noticeable wrestlers became stars and long-awaited titles set the tone for Oregon high school wrestling.
Our Sam Barlow High School wrestling teams, both girls and boys, competed at state this 2026 season. Barlow competed within the 6A-4 Mt. Hood Conference. Barlow Wrestlers competed in the Mt Hood Conference Wrestling Districts to qualify for state. In Districts, several wrestlers placed and qualified for state.
Sam Barlow High School’s wrestling teams, both boys and girls, made their mark at the state level. The boy wrestlers that qualified through the Mt Hood Conference districts are Leon Richard, weight class 126, Junior Mendez, 150, and Layth Qouchbane, 190. Second-place state qualifiers were Gavin Jusino, 113, Pierce Delair, 190, Evan Fero, 215, and Keoni Lam Tiang, 285. Third-place state qualifiers were Julion Davis, 120, Will Ward, 175, and Nolan Harrop, 285. Those were all of our state qualifiers for Sam Barlow. Anton Akmulin, 165, placed fourth in districts. Daniel Olson, 126, placed fifth in districts. Bryson Head, 106, and Bennett Akines, 113, placed sixth in districts.
The Girls’ Special District 2 Placers District Champions who qualified for state are Abbeline Richard and Taylor Ward, both placing first. Margaret Lovely, 100, placing 2nd State Qualifier. Kalani Macfie, 140, placing 6th.
